Philip Cox
Principal
Philip Cox has been part of the Mitch Cox Companies for nearly two decades. He is currently the owner of Envoy Hospitality and co-owner of Mitch Cox Companies, a commercial real estate development and construction firm focused on hospitality, multifamily, and self-storage. As part of his everyday routine, Philip devotes his time to various aspects of his businesses, ensuring that each cog is running smoothly and seamlessly. Before coming to Mitch Cox Companies, Philip was a successful commercial real estate broker in Dallas, TX with the firm Marcus and Millichap. Philip is a graduate of Southern Methodist University where he holds a BBA in Real Estate Finance.
Philip is an individual who’s never willing to settle for the normal and is fueled by a drive to keep pushing the bar higher. In fact, he considers himself to be an aggressive and creative individual in both his personal and professional pursuits and believes that these two-character traits have led to his success.
He has served as President of the Johnson City Development Authority and the Northeast Tennessee Regional Economic Partnership. He has served on the United Way executive team, Coalition for Kids, and the Johnson City Sports Foundation, which managed the Minor League Baseball team Johnson City Cardinals and was a former Rotarian and Paul Harris Fellow.
Philip has been married 10 years and enjoys spending his time away from work with his wife Sarah and 3 kids. He is also extremely fond of skiing and golf, and loves these sports because they aren’t just fun but also give him a chance to experience beautiful, scenic spots.
